Hello my name is Cindy Buckman. I would like to tell you a little about myself, I have been a k9 handler & trainer for over 20 years. I have been a dog lover all my life. I love working with dogs all sizes shapes and colors. They are so educational & fulfilling to me. I have learned more about life and my self mostly from dogs. That might sound a little strange,
and odd but helping a dog in need is so gratifying to me that I think sometimes I am helping them but yet they are helping me. So I get two for the price of one.
I have dogs around me twenty four seven.
I have a small boarding facility next to my home so if they need me morning noon or night I am there.
I do offer pick up and delivery for a small fee.
I do not hold group classes anymore but I do private lessons.
House of paws does offer minor grooming.
My address is not listed on the site for safety reasons for the dogs but I will take you for a tour if I feel you & your dog would be good for our family, because that is the way I work.
Its not the money it is the happiness and safety for the dogs and me. If you have an aggressive or dominate dog please do not call for boarding, unless you want to resolve this problem, then we will do private lessons in your home to resolve this problem. And if I can not help you fix this problem I will help you find someone who will.
All the dogs play together in rotation large dogs with large dogs and then small dogs with small dogs and each dog has a condo of there own.
5' x 7' for large dogs & 2.5' x 7' for small dogs at night in the same area; therefore, socialization is crucial. All areas are video recorded & security camera's through out with audio so I can here all dogs day & night if I am needed for any reason.
Breeds are also important --I don't play favorites but I cannot board an adult intact male never socialized breed of any kind that is a threat to the rest of my borders and family.
Nor will I take a female in season, no need to explain.
House of Paws has the right to refuse anyone services at any time.
I have recently been given an award from the Alabama Veterinary Medical Foundation and Association.
This award is the Bowie - Heath Humanitarian award for people in the State of Alabama who have been recognized for their outstanding help and care giving to the animals. I was deeply honored to receive this award and I will continue to work hard and live up to the standards of this award. I never realized there was an award given for caring for animals-- I feel I get reward everyday when I help a dog & owner with a problem, just by looking in the dogs eyes and when I see contentment and stability & confidence I know all is well.
That is why I am very strict about who can stay and play.
My goal is for the dogs to want to come back to
House of Paws.
